THE NEW MANAGER IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE

Manchester United sacked their manager Erik Ten Hag following the club’s poor start of the 2024/25 season, his final game as the manager was a controversial defeat at West Ham when they were beaten 2-1 and left the club in the 14th spot in the league table. Former Manchester United player Rudd van Nisterooy took over as the interim manager, Van Nisterooy has led the team unbeaten in the four games that he was in charge including a 1-1 draw against Chelsea in the Premier League on 03/September/2024. The club had extended a one-year contract to Ten Hag following their victory in May’s FA Cup final victory against Manchester City but just over three months after the season resumed he has been sacked.

Manchester United appointed the Sporting CP coach Ruben Amorim to join the club at the Theater of Dreams on two and a half year deal with an extension of one year, He will take charge as the Manchester United manager on November 11, 2024. The 39-year-old Portuguese coach guided Sporting CP to lift the Portuguese League title twice after a nineteen-year title drought, usually, Amorim is considered for using a defensive back three with attack-minded wing-backs, but will his tactical formation work in the Premier League?

Barcelona, Liverpool, Bayern Munich and West Ham wanted Amorim Last season to fill in their vacant managerial roles but he opted to stay in Sporting CP, he has now decided to join a Premier League club in his senior career so we can say a lot is expected of him. One of the United players who knows Amorim very well is Manuel Ugarte who played under the coach while at Sporting Lisbon, Bruno Fernandez was once a player at Sporting. Sporting CP thrashed Manchester City 4-1 in the Champions League on 5/November/2024 giving Ruben Amorim a farewell farewell as it was his last game as the Sporting manager.
