Why International Breaks in a Football Season

Why International Breaks in a Football Season

By Solomon Wise, 2023 October

Many have been wondering why there is an international break in the middle of the season that limits them from enjoying watching their favorite clubs play during the weekends and I have a reason why.

FIFA has at least eight international breaks in a season to give the national teams prove their mettle on the world’s stage and also see how they can compete when they qualify in various tournaments like the World Cup, Africa Cup of Nations, and Euros just to mention but a few. The major pros of the breaks are that they give the managers, especially for the underperforming teams, a breathing space and how to re-evaluate their tactics when the break ends while the major cons is that a best player from a certain team can pick up a serious injury for the rest of the season.

Some breaks for the 2023/2024 season include:

  • October 9-17, 2023
  • November 13-21, 2023
  • March 18-26, 2024
  • June-July 2024 – UEFA European Championships 2024

More details of the break are available on the Football Today website

Also, the breaks help fanatics to cool and calm down maybe from the disappointments from their favorite club’s recent performances and for some gamblers, to save money in which they only place bets on the top European league competitions like the EPL, Seria A, La Liga and other leagues but not international

games.

All in All, some gamblers prefer to place bets during international games.
