If you are a gambler you may have been in such a situation where a game in your accumulator is postponed or cancelled. Every betting site have different policies on game cancelled or postponed, other sites refund the money to the customers immediately others 24 hours or 72 hours after the cancellations depending on the policies.
In such an event if the bet was a single bet then the bet becomes void and a refund of the stake is given or a free bet, in case of voids in a multi-bet the bookmarkers don’t include the void match but the accumulator bet will stand with updated odds less from the previous one. Void simply means that you do not win or lose anything.
When you place a bet using a free bet then it gets cancelled, you may or may not be refunded depending on the terms and conditions of the betting site one is using. One gets a refund on a multi-bet if a game is postponed depending on how long it is postponed. If it is longer than the limit for cancelling a bet it will pay out but if it is postponed for a shorter time then you will have to wait for the bet to settle.
REASONS FOR A GAME TO BE CANCELLED OR POSTPONED
- Weather– a game can be cancelled in the middle of the action if the weather is that bad and rescheduled to a late date due to heavy rain, snow or storms.
- Other commitments– the most common example is that when a team is involved in the FA Cup but the same weekend it is also scheduled to play in the league game therefore the officials will have to reschedule the league game.
- Security concerns– these may occur when fans start being rowdy due to the poor performance of their team and start throwing things or invading the pitch making it impossible for the players to continue playing.
- Pitch conditions– the pitch condition is crucial to a match, too wet of a frozen pitch can be dangerous for players to play on which may lead to potential injuries.
Never panic when a game is cancelled. If it is not replayed soon, your stake will be refunded.
