Football is so entertaining especially if it is a derby between two big teams, during the 90+ minutes played there are many decisions made on and off the pitch where players are disciplined by the officials from receiving a warning, yellow cards or even red cards. Football players may accept bookings for a variety of offences but some players have never had a red card in their careers here is a list of seven iconic players who have not entered the referee’s book with zero red cards:

1. KARIM BENZEMA

Before moving to Saudi Pro league (Al-Ittihad) the Frenchman played for both Lyon and Real Madrid a total of 893 games and has never received a single red card.

2. ANDRES INIESTA

Having received 67 yellow cards in his career, the Spanish midfielder’s commitment to fair play has seen him with zero red cards in over 900 matches he has played in his career.

3. PHILIP LAHM

The German legend has a zero red card with a total of 765 games played despite having 60 yellow cards in his entire career and he is described as the best Right back of all time.

4. RAUL GONZALEZ

Also known as El Ferrari has played 1034 games both internationally and at club level (Real Madrid and Schalke04). Raul went more than 20 years playing professional football without receiving a red card despite receiving 50 bookings in his career.

5. MICHEL PLATINI

The former UEFA president has made a total of 652 appearances both club and country in his career and he has never received a red card in any of them.

6. RYAN GIGGS

Giggs the Welsh legend has played for Manchester United since 1991and with over 700 games played both internationally and by the club has never led him to be sent off the game for a red card.

7. XAVI HERNANDEZ

The Spanish captain and ex-Barcelona player has a total appearance of 767 matches for the club and 133 times for the country with a zero red card booking. He also was the head coach of Barcelona at some point before resigning.
